 Totton resident and founder of the Save Our Children Centres (SOCC Hampshire) campaign is standing for the Lib Dems in Totton West on Thursday 5th May.
Cath together with Kate Reynolds have taken on Conservative run Hampshire County Council, trying to get them to stop their planned cuts to Childrens Centres.
They have raised a huge petition, spoken at the County Council meeting and are now taking legal action to force the Council to have a rethink.
Cath said "The County Council said that they would consult on proposed changes to the service, but then went ahead and fixed their budget for next year with the cuts already included.
Their Consultation exercise is a sham.
The campaign introduced me to local government and the support from Chris Huhne MP and local Lib Dem County Councillors matched my personal values and so I have decided to stand as a Lib Dem in my local community."
