Earlier in the year, Totton North Lib Dem County Councillor Alan Weeks, signed up to the 1010 pledge.
This is a commitment to reduce the carbon footprint by 10% during 2010.
Alan has fulfilled his commitment by having a bank of 18 solar panels installed on his home.
These will supply peak power of over 3KW into his home with any unused excess being supplied back to the grid.
