Totton has enjoyed a very good clean-up, as a result of residents coming together to tackle littering and fly-tipping in the town.
On the Rushington Manor Estate, a litter–pick and river clearing operation was organised jointly by the Chairman of the Residents Association, Cliff Thomas and Mrs J West.
Meanwhile, volunteers from “Churches Together”, organised a litter-pick across a much wider area of the town.
Town, District and County Councillor, David Harrison took part in the Rushington clean-up, concentrating on the area of Rum Green, by the Bartley River.
He said “It was terrific to see so many residents turn up to help clean up.
There was a good sense of community spirit and we picked up lot of items that had been dumped many months ago.” |
