Local Parliamentary Campaigner Terry Scriven talking to Baroness Barker the Shadow Health Minister. |
“Seek Help” – That’s the message from Terry Scriven to the hundreds of people who live in the New Forest who suffer from degenerative diseases.
Throughout the New Forest there are a number of people who suffer from Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Many of them are reluctant to seek help, perhaps thinking that nothing can be done because they are suffering from conditions that cannot be cured.
Whilst at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Brighton, Terry Scriven, Prospective Member of Parliament for New Forest East, took the opportunity to discuss these issues with Baroness Barker the Shadow Health Minister.
He learned that many people are unaware of the palliative care provided by hospices to help relieve symptoms rather than cure and how they can help people with heart disease, respiratory illnesses and neurological conditions. |
