New Forest District Councillor, Mike Shand, has asked District Officers to provide special motorcycle bays at the District Council Headquarters in Lyndhurst, as a means of encouraging staff and members to travel in a more eco friendly environmental fashion.
Currently, the Offices at Appletree Court, Lyndhurst only provide parking bays designed for cars.
Cllr. Mike Shand, former Chairman of the Authority says “I’m a keen motorcyclist myself and often use my bike to attend meetings from my home in Fordingbridge.
I want the District Council to look at encouraging greater use of two wheeled transport and the provision of some motorcycle bays would be a good start”. |
