One in four people are likely to experience mental illness at some time during their lives, yet many people suffer from stigma and discrimination as a result of their illness.
Hampshire Partnership NHS Trust is the major provider of mental health and learning disability services for adults and older people in Hampshire and is seeking to become an NHS Foundation Trust.
Foundation trust status means that the trust will gain new financial freedoms but more importantly will become more accountable to local people through its members and (mostly) elected Council of Governors.
The Governors are elected from and by the members and in order to make these elections as meaningful as possible, we’d like as many local people as possible to join our membership list.
