Drivers are now responsible for the safe disposal of their car when it reaches the end of its life.
Anyone just abandoning an old car will soon be tracked down and punished. From 1st January 2007, the UK's network of authorised treatment facilities will accept scrap cars free of charge for recycling.

When you recycle your old car, first it will be depolluted by safely removing all fluids and chemicals, and then the car will be recycled. Around 85% of a modern car, including most of the steel used, can now be recycled and re-used for other purposes. |
