| New Forest Liberal Democrats launched into the Autumn Campaign Programme this week with an activity weekend in Totton.
The event was supported by over 40 activists, including over 20 Lib Dem Parish and District Councillors from all over the New Forest. Fortunately, the sun was shining for a Saturday morning start. The gathering of keen campaigners distributed Focus leaflets and letters to residents in Totton.
Totton is something of a Lib Dem strong-hold. The Town Council has been run by a Lib Dem administration for over 20 years, nine out of the ten District Councillors are Lib Dems, as are both County Councillors. The Tory MP, who lives in Totton, must be feeling a little under pressure!
Campaigns Manager, David Harrison says "This was a good start to regular activity following our super West Totton by-election victory in July".
Campaigns Organiser, Alan Weeks says "We have an excellent chance of winning back control of the New Forest District Council in May. Morale amongst the group is very high and there is a feeling that we can give the Tories a real fight for votes anywhere in the Forest".
