Volunteers have been hard at work at Bartley Water, Eling, in Totton, this week.
Supported by Totton & Eling Town Council, the team of volunteers from different parts of the County have been beavering away at the riverbank, helping improve footways and restoring eroded areas.
Council Chairman, David Harrison, interrupted the keen workers to extend his thanks for the work undertaken, supported by fellow Councillors, George Dart and Bill Catt.
The Town Council are particularly keen to enhance the Eling area, bringing together quality features that include an attractive riverside walk, Eling Quay, the Tide Mill and the Heritage Centre.
Councillor Harrison says "The volunteers do a great job, improving the environment right across Hampshire. It was great to extend to them a warm welcome to Totton. Although the weather wasn't terrific they launched into the work with great enthusiasm. Local people & visitors to this special area in Eling will benefit from their work for years to come".
