David is Chairman
Last updated  Saturday, 13th May 2006
Lib Dem controlled Totton & Eling Town Council have chosen a new Chairman for the ensuing year, Councillor David Harrison.

The 49 year old, National Health Service employee is also a New Forest District Councillor, County Councillor and Member of the Hampshire Fire & Rescue Authority. He previously served a term of office as Chairman in 1995-96.

On receiving the support of his Council colleagues, Cllr. Harrison played warm tribute to the outgoing Chairman, Cllr. Alan Weeks saying that he had conducted his year of office with confidence and clarity.

Following the Annual Council meeting, Cllr. Harrison said "I'm really looking forward to representing the Town Council once again, as Chairman. I hope to meet many people and attend a number of different functions in the coming months. I already have an invitation from the local College to open a new Learning Centre and to attend a special celebration at Winchester Cathedral".

Cllr. Harrison will be supported by long serving Councillor George Dart, voted to the role of Vice-Chairman.
