A student and employee of Totton College has been nominated for a top award. Tracie Currie is the Programmes Development Coordinator at the Forest First Children's Centre, providing support to families on the Waterside. As recognition of her success after retraining as an adult she has been short listed for a prestigious award from the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education.

Councillor David Harrison, Chairman of Totton & Eling Town Council met Tracie at the new Learning Centre in Junction Road, Totton and was delighted to present her with the nomination following her outstanding achievements, following enrolment on a CACHE level 2 childcare course and learning with short courses "introduction into working with young children" and "paediatric first-aid".

Councillor Harrison says "Tracie provides a very inspiring example to others. I wish her every success with the award and for her continuing work in the community".
