New Forest Liberal Democrats have just enjoyed one of the biggest social events in recent years, a summer barbecue at the North Gorley home of Terry and Jan Scriven.
The extensive grounds were perfect for hosting the event, one that attracted members and supporters from all corners of the New Forest.
Guest of honour was Chris Huhne MP who spoke of his respect and thanks to New Forest campaigners who had contributed much help to neighbouring areas, including a spectacular success at the recent elections in Eastleigh that saw the Lib Dems return with an even higher majority.
Those attending the event had a variety of entertainment options, ranging from golf to croquet and a series of traditional garden party games. The games, catering, raffle draw and even the car-parking were all organised with military precision.
Although the weather was a bit mixed with a few showers, spirits were not dampened and a great time was enjoyed by all.
With the England Football team later qualifying for the Quarter finals of the World Cup, it all added up to a very good day!
