In another boost to the New Forest party fortunes, Liberal Democrat, Kate Lord has been elected, unopposed, to Fawley Parish Council.
Kate Lord joins fellow Liberal Democrats Barbara Maynard and Malcolm Fidler on Fawley Parish Council, extending still further the number of Lib Dem Councillors all along the Waterside and making it by far the largest party representation on the eastern side the New Forest.
Kate is a keen environmentalist and boasts an unusual hobby, ferret keeping. Kate works as a Carer for elderly adults and is particularly keen that they get a better deal than is currently the case.
Kate officially takes up her new role on the Parish Council on Wednesday. County Councillor for the Fawley area, Lee Dunsdon, congratulated Kate saying "I have known Kate for long enough to appreciate that she is a hard-working, caring person. She will make a great addition to the local parish council and I look forward to working with her to help improve the quality of lives for local people".
