The Avon Valley branch of the Liberal Democrats has been successfully re-launched, helped in no small way by Terry Scriven of North Gorley.

In recent months, Terry has been actively campaigning in the Ringwood area, knocking on doors and finding out key issues, those things that local care most about. His active style has inspired local members to join him and impressed residents who have often remarked that they rarely ever see a local politician, let alone get a chance to speak with one!

Perhaps the biggest boost local party fortune was a very successful social event and fund raiser, organised and held at the North Gorley country home of Terry and Jan Scriven. The Summer BBQ event attracted members from all over the New Forest and featured a V.I.P. guest, Chris Huhne M.P. The popular event has helped boost local branch coffers to the tune of several hundred pounds and will mean more funds available to grow the party and campaign.

Terry says "It was good to raise funds in such an enjoyable way. I think the prospects of getting more Liberal Democrat votes in local elections has never been better. Ringwood is a town that has never got a fair deal from the District or County Council. I'm determined to change that".
