Councillor Terry Scriven, newly elected as a member of Ringwood Town Council, is already following up work relating to the recent Residents Survey he has undertaken.

Working with the Liberal Democrat team in Ringwood, Terry quickly picked up that local people are very concerned about an apparent shortfall in community policing and had a significant fear of criminal activity.

Councillor Scriven has good knowledge of policing, having attended the Strategic Command Course at Bramshill when it was the National Police Staff College in 1997. He was also in the Military Police for 35 years.

The campaigning Councillor says "I have written to the Chief Superintendent responsible for operations in the Ringwood area. I have asked for a meeting to discuss community policing in the town and the possibility of a prohibition of consuming alcohol in public places like Ringwood town centre".
