I have lived in the area for over twenty years, lecture at Bournemouth and Poole College and I am an experienced local campaigner with a track record of getting things done.
I’m happily married to Janet, an English teacher and have two children. I’ve been an LEA governor of a number of schools and a trustee of three local charities that deal with mental health issues, addiction and recycling.
I recently saved the local REMPLOY factory which employs disabled people from closure by organising a petition which a small team carried to London (I ran 54 miles in two days) which I handed over to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions at a face to face meeting. I also led a campaign to save a local first school from closure. I get things done!
