Previous By-Election Results:

Mike Plummer - New Forest West Constituency

I have lived in the area for over twenty years, lecture at Bournemouth and Poole College and I am an experienced local campaigner with a track record of getting things done.

I’m happily married to Janet, an English teacher and have two children. I’ve been an LEA governor of a number of schools and a trustee of three local charities that deal with mental health issues, addiction and recycling.

I recently saved the local REMPLOY factory which employs disabled people from closure by organising a petition which a small team carried to London (I ran 54 miles in two days) which I handed over to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions at a face to face meeting. I also led a campaign to save a local first school from closure. I get things done!

Terry Scriven - New Forest East Constituency

I had 37 years service in the armed forces from boy soldier to Colonel.

I am the Chairman of Liberal Democrats Friends of the Armed Forces, a case worker for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, and a member of the Totton and Eling branch of the Royal British Legion.

My family and I have lived on a smallholding in the New Forest for over 15 years.
My wife Jan is a consultant nurse. She was formerly a captain in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps and is a Gulf War veteran.

For 4 years I was chairman of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Learning and Skills Council which was responsible for all Colleges and post 16 education and training.

I am also a member of the New Forest Association, Hampshire Wildlife Trust and Green Liberal Democrats.
